A Dream Come True...

Here's a funny story. It happened just last week while my Mom was in town. Really this is hilarious. Prepare yourself.  

Honestly it's not that funny, but it is really sweet and still worth reading. So continue...

It just so happened that my mother's arrival coincided with me running out of various items that can only be found at Costco. Funny how that happens sometimes, right?  

Also because my momma was in town the mister was on his best behavior, and because she has magical-super-mom-powers she somehow convinced him to accompany us on our trip to Costco. These powers she has, they are crazy. I think she's a wizard. 

After eating every sample available and going down every aisle at least once,  I start to hear some commotion happening between the mister and my mother. Instantly I can tell they are in cahoots. This is not good. 

Suddenly I am surrounded. I try not to panic.

"You know she never lets me buy her anything." the mister says on my right.

What? Where does he come up with these things? What is he trying to pull?

"Really mister? Daughter, I think we need to revisit this gift receiving subject." 

Right. 

"What's the one thing you've always wanted that you haven't got yet?" 

Oh, he's just walking into this one!

Holding my left hand in the air and batting my eyelashes I innocently reply...

"A diamond."     

Sometimes I just can't help it. 

"Right, besides that."

Damn.

I don't know.

A working dishwasher?

A trip to Spain?

New flooring in my kitchen?

A free for all shopping spree at Nordstroms?

I was so caught-up with trying to remember what I really wanted that I failed to notice we had crossed the store and were suddenly standing in front of the Kitchen-Aid mixers. 

Oh right!

This is what I have always wanted!

So what ensued was a highly annoying debate between the mister and me over what mixer would be going home with us that day. Apparently it wasn't an option to leave the Costco premises without one. 

    Isn't it just so pretty! 

I couldn't believe it, I still can't actually.

It catches me off guard sometimes and then I remember that it's mine and I get giddy.

Belated Birthday Post

It was my birthday this weekend! Actually it was yesterday, we celebrated on Saturday with all our friends. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my friends? Cause I do, I really, really do. 

The plan was to have everyone meet at our house and then we walked over to the nearest bar and kind of took it over, cause that's what we do. Apparently.

The biggest surprise of the night was this cake! My mom coordinated with C to get me and Josh a Care Bear birthday cake. It's delicious.

So now I'm 28. And how do I feel about that?

This year is going to be a good one.

Date Night!

In an attempt to make good on my 29 Before 29 we had Date Night tonight. Nothing fancy just Sixth Street Grill for some burgers. It was delicious!

So tired today....

Today was my second day of school. It went about 126 times better than Monday. 

My Writing teacher is hilarious! She used to work for the bible college here in town. Today we talked about how the nuns used to yell at her all the time.
In Biology we did a lab where we had to pick up beans from the gravel parking lot using only a knife (or forceps, or a spoon, or a fork, but I got a knife). I rocked! I got 9 beans, the most out of my group!

Then I went to the gym and worked out for the first time in three weeks where I got sexually harassed by an old lady. It was awkward.
Thankfully the mister came and saved me.
Then he made me run 3 miles on the elliptical. 
Now I'm stuck on the couch because I can't move my legs.

Now it's time for wine, nachos and Survivor.

The weather it is a changin'

It's officially fall. Yep, I said it. O-fi-cal! How do I know?

Last night was the finale of Big Brother. Yay Hayden, but I think Lane and Brittney need their own show.

And the five day forecast is rain, rain and more rain. 

So it's fall. 

And on top of it all, I think I'm coming down with something. 
Great!
I spent all day in bed today watching Grey's Anatomy. Not necessarily because I wanted to (even though I really did) but because I had no energy to do anything else. In fact by the time I cleaned up the house, picked up the mister and the veggies I was spent. I've been on the couch ever since. And the mister has been pretty great, he even went and got me vanilla ice cream and 7-up (the magic ingredients for a cure).

Now I'm watching Top Chef: Just Desserts. 
I'm sure it will make me want to bake.
Probably not a good idea given my situation.

Time for ice cream.
